First games of the Sweet Sixteen begin

On Thursday, March 25, the Sweet Sixteen tipped off with (#1) Gonzaga playing fourth-seed Arkansas, Arizona playing (#5)Houston, (#2) Duke playing (#3) Texas Tech, and (#11) Michigan playing (#2) Villanova. The predictions expected Gonzaga to make it to the final and dominate the competition, but Arkansas ended up taking the dub with a 74-68 final. Arizona, another favorite in the tournament, went down 72-60 to Houston while Duke took down Texas Tech 78-73. Villanova advanced to the Elite Eight by eliminating 11th seeded Michigan 63-55.
