Move over Barbie, a new trend is in town for kids: makeup and skincare. Kids have invaded Sephoras and Ultas across the country searching for their new favorite products.
Recently on Tiktok Sephora and Ulta employees and customers have spoken out about kids under the age of 12 coming into the store asking for a specific brands of skincare or makeup they recently saw on Tiktok.
“I’ve experienced a ton of little kids trying to act like they are better than me and better than everyone else because they think they are so popular, fancy, and rich for buying stuff that is pointless for them,” freshman Kylie Chaffin said.
Customers have expressed concern for products that are geare for older use, but when they go to the store to restock, the item is gone without a trace thanks to kids. Also if kids see that something is out of stock, they sell it out online too, causing mass chaos to find any of the prized products that become part of the chase.
“I definitely dread going [to makeup stores] because I don’t know if some of my favorite products are going to be in stock or not,” sophomore Addison Parker said.
