The long awaited album “Vultures” by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign has been pushed back yet again. Originally set to release mid October, the album was delayed until new year and then later pushed back again to January 12. However, the album no longer has an expected release date.
West has a long record of releasing albums late. Past albums “Life of Pablo” was delayed over 500 days before it released. Hence, West has yet to release an album on time in his 20 year career.
“Obviously fans are going to complain when an album as big as ‘Vultures’ is delayed. [Fans] will start to call the album overrated out of frustration when it comes out,” senior Karl Suppes said.
Part of the album’s troubles come from a sample Kanye used in the first track “Everybody”, which uses samples from Backstreet Boys’ song “Everybody”. Kanye failed to get Backstreet Boys’ permission to sample the song, creating tensions between the two.
“When you have questionable comments like Kanye, it kinda affects what you put out in the music industry, because everybody has opinions and it will be harder to work with the people you want to,” senior Noah Phillips said.
Kanye fans worldwide have craved new music now for three years and hope West can bounce back from all the negative media.
