Following the 7-5 win at home against Porter Ridge, the Spartans clinched the series win with a 11-6 win at Porter Ridge against the Pirates.

Rice commit Cole Green had another stellar performance going two-for-two with a double, a home run, two walks, and and three RBI’s (Runs Batted In), while also scoring three times himself to tally five out of SV’s eleven runs.

Junior Jessen Copeland was also a huge help in the Spartans efforts, hitting three-for-four on the game with a double, home run, and three RBI’s as well as scoring two runs himself.

On the pitching side of things, sophomore Bryson Thomas secured his second win of the year throwing a complete seven inning complete game while striking out four batters, giving up five earned runs on nine hits and three walks on 96 pitches.

The Spartans are looking to finish out the year on a four game win streak going into the conference tournament when they play the Pirates at home on senior night on April 26, 2024.
