ALEX CACERES, a junior at Sun Valley, is beginning her first year writing for the SPARTAN SHIELD as a STAFF REPORTER. Having called Caracas, Venezuela home for the first 8 years of her life, she is someone who takes great pride in her country and her roots. Learning English as a third grader in an unfamiliar environment was a massive hurdle ALEX had to overcome, but in the process, she fell in love with writing. While, usually, ALEX is quiet, organized and kept to herself, she has a combative personality, and a huge love for debating and arguing about controversial (or noncontroversial) topics that are relevant in the present day. Because of this, she hopes to pursue a career in law and is doing everything she can to achieve that goal.
